Herr Drosselmeyer Ornament
vividly remember going to the performance of The Nutcracker Ballet as a child. So, I made sure that this outing became a tradition for my children as well. My children would look forward to the Saturday after Thanksgiving as this was the day when we would head to the ballet and officially kick off our Christmas season. I remember dad playing Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, Op 71a, all throughout the Christmas season so it made sense for me to create an ornament collection around the theme of The Nutcracker Ballet. So, I created the Herr Drosselmeyer ornament inspired by my childhood memories and the memories I created with my children.

It is amazing how Catalina manages to transform recycled materials into unique collector’s items with such details associated with the character. Herr Drosselmeyer, even has Clara’s Present, which it is no other than the Nutcracker. And his eye-patch gives him a mysterious touch.
