Lady Morgana Le Fay Ornament
s I was researching iconic medieval characters, I discovered the richness of the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. An era where queens, kings, wizards, enchantresses, and knights ruled the world was the perfect theme for my figurines. So, I chose to embark on a special journey to the medieval ages. Much research went into the design of these ornaments. I incorporated many details that make this Lady Morgana Le Fay ornament especially memorable. Pair this figurine with others in this collection, like the Merlin ornament, or even Excalibur!
Lady Morgana Ornament Design Process
Who is Lady Morgana Le Fay?
Lady Morgana Le Fay, or “Morgana the Fairy”, is King Arthur’s half-sister. She was an enchantress who learned her magic from the most powerful of all wizards, Merlin. While in the court of her father King Uther Pendragon, Morgana became an extremely powerful enchantress. Legend says that she became Arthur’s greatest enemy because she coveted his throne. Morgana eventually becomes the immortal Queen of Avalon. What is more, Avalon, the island where Arthur is taken after being fatally wounded in the Battle of Camlann.
The Design
I chose brown, turquoise, and purple tones for Morgana’s color palette. As a symbol of Morgana’s magic mastery, I chose a bottle of potion. To make the bottle of elixir, I used dull crystal beads. So, Morgana carries the bottle of potion dangling from her waistband, ready to enchant her next victim. Morgana is a master of deceit. So, I decorated her hair with a snake which represents her evilness. I added a small tiara that represents her royal descent. And a gemstone decorates her forehead adding to its enigmatic nature. Finally, I gave her dark black hair, and mysterious eyes hidden behind purple eyeshadow, emphasizing her treacherous and deceptive personality.
