Santa Claus Ornament
hen designing the Santa Claus ornament, I had the idea of having a set of matching Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. So, I handcrafted these ornaments as pairs using the same repurposed and recycled materials. When you buy both Kris Kringle and Mrs. Kringle at the same time, you will be sure to receive a matching set. Given their versatile design, you can place them on the mantle for a touch of charm to your holiday décor. Even more, make memories with these one-of-a-kind ornaments as you and your family decorate the Christmas Tree. Finally, these Santa Claus figurines are the perfect gift for the Saint Nicholas collectors on your holiday list.
Santa Claus Ornament Design Process
I gave this Santa Claus a traditional hat. Although, instead of his iconic red hat, I made the hat from cotton fabrics of different Christmas prints and colors. This way, the hat gives my Santa a more unique look. I also decorated the hat with berries and beads, and I trimmed it with color-coordinated pipe-cleaners.
I used cardboard tubes to make the body of the Santa Claus ornament. My husband found these tubes for me at a garage sale many years ago. I used red acrylic paint to paint the tubes for Santa’s red suit. Then, I needed to give him a bag full of toys. So, I used different drab color gingham materials to make his bag. And I placed the bag on his back. I used a golden cord to tie it. Finally, I gave Santa black boots and a black belt with a golden buckle to complete his outfit.
Santa Claus’ Beard
Santa’s beard is my favorite feature of this ornament because it enhances its whimsical nature. Santa’s beard swings to one side in a frolicky way and you can imagine the wind blowing on his face as he swooshes through the night skies. You can imagine him rushing to visit all children’s houses around the world — from the glaciers of Alaska to the islands of Tierra del Fuego. And from the volcanoes of Hawaii to the deserts of Egypt. And from the fjords of Norway to the beaches of Venezuela. All in one single night!

What would Christmas be without Santa? I love the small red plaid fabric. So charming! You must get Mrs. Claus to complete the set!

I purchased both Mr. and Mrs. Clause for my Mother-in-law and she loved them! Such a great and unique gift.

My family was so surprised when they saw this wonderful ornament on the tree. There is something magical about the way he looks with all of his interesting details. We can’t wait to see him again next year!
