Santa Claus Reindeer Ornament
s I expanded the Santa Claus Ornaments Collection, I realized that this collection would not be complete without a reindeer. So, I designed the Santa Claus Reindeer ornament to honor one of my favorite Christmastime stories. This figurine embodies the reindeers in “A Visit from Saint Nicholas” (Moore, Clement C. A Visit from Saint Nicholas. New York, 1862. Print.). Evoke your childhood memories of reading “Twas the Night Before Christmas” by the fireplace. Or celebrate new memories with this ornament as your children decorate the Christmas Tree with these delightful keepsakes. And listen to the laughs of your littles ones as they recite the names of Santa’s reindeers. Or sing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as you add a touch of magic to your fireplace mantle with these collectibles.
Santa Claus Reindeer Ornament Design Process
Like the North Pole Snowman ornament, I gave the reindeer ornament a multi-color Santa’s hat. Next, I dressed him in a vest that I made from multiple Christmas pattern cotton fabrics. Then, I added a collar with a jingle bell. Now, he is ready to ring his jingle bell to announce the arrival of Santa Claus. I also gave him golden antlers that remind us of the magical and enchanting spirit of Christmas. Despite the carrot sticks that children leave for the reindeers next to Santa’s plate of cookies, I decided to break tradition to complete his playful character, I gave him a peppermint candy wrapped in cellophane so he can spice his travels around the world as he pulls Santa’s sleigh crisscrossing the midnight skies on Christmas Eve.
Regardless of which one is your favorite reindeer, this Santa Claus Reindeer ornament represents all Santa’s reindeers. Whether it is Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, or Vixen. Or whether it is Comet, Cupid, Donder, or Blitzen. Surely, this ornament will remind you of the cherished Christmas classic “Twas the Night Before Christmas!”
