Tiger Lily Ornament
iger Lily is the princess of the Piccaninnies, and she is the most beautiful of the goddesses of the woods, as described by J. M. Barrie. A dichotomous character, she embodies beauty and bravery at the same time. She is “cold and amorous,” and “coquettish” with no desire to be the wife of any brave’s. Her interesting personality was my inspiration for the design of this unique Tiger Lily figurine.
Tiger Lily Ornament Design Process
I tried to capture Tiger Lily’s strong character as I hand-painted her face. Beautiful, bigger than usual dark brown eyes with long eyelashes and bright red lips with a flirtatious smile are certain to enchant any brave person who catches a glimpse of her.
As I design my characters, selecting the right color palette is most important to capture its true personality. I dressed Tiger Lily in a coral leather dress with a turquoise waistband. Simple but royal at the same time, the dress’ skirt is brightened with a beaded design. To complement her attire, a multicolor necklace with a turquoise stone decorates her neckline.
A simple unpretentious leather tiara with golden nuggets crowns her jet-black long braids which are secured with matching turquoise ties. A lime green feather completes her headdress. Finishing her outfit is a furry leather cape that hangs off her shoulders, enhancing her royal presence. In addition, turquoise leather booties keep her feet warm. The final touch is a handmade tomahawk that is fastened to her waistband, which represents her courageous personality. This Tiger Lily collectible is certain to delight Peter Pan fans of all ages.
